Enabling government entities with smarter security

The “Direcció General de Tecnologies de la Informació i Comunicació” asked Soffid to solve a specific problem: they had a wide range types of users just as different roles, and there were a poor technical connectivity between them.

They have now a central point of identity management for user registration and permissions, as well as delegation certain tasks to councils.

Soffid managed 80.000 identities with access to more than 300 applications for this cliente. Some of the applications were:

• Active Directory
• Open LDAP
• Lotus Notes
• SAP R/3

It is also used for citizens identification by electronic certificate or by login with @clave; so that, the person is identified and Soffid gives him/her automatically the permission that correspond them as citizens.

Given the high degree of distribution of tasks and responsibilities of a regional government, the number of workflows is very high, but the most signficant:

• Creation and removal of users for public employees.
• Process that allows the secretaries of the schools to create user accounts for the parents of the students.
• Process that allows the tutors of the schools to create user accounts for their students.
• Process of creation and withdrawal of health personnel for access to hospital information systems.

In healthcare área: all primary care doctors have Access to each patient’s medical history by his/her electronic signature to get prescriptions. The platform includes pharmacies as IOTs, creating a specific credential for each pharmacy team in orden to know the prescriptions that belongs to each patient.
