Increasing productivity and security

DirecTV is an American direct broadcast satellite service provider based in El Segundo, California and is now a subsidiary of AT&T. Its satellite service transmits digital satellite television and audio to households in the United States, Latin America and the Caribbean.

DirecTV provides television and audio services to subscribers through satellite transmissions. Due to its geographical dispersion, flexible and secure IT access was paramount for DirecTV.

Since March 2017, DirecTV chose Soffid to be the tool to manage all their identities and accesses. DirecTV has increased productivity and security with the Open Source Soffid Identity and Access management suite.

Soffid is able to optimize in a very clear way the entire Provisioning process through Workflows. Registrations and cancellations for employees and especially external personnel are automated.

The big problem we detected was work at helpdesk área, when organizing the customer registration and cancellation campaigns. The single user sign-up process could take up to two weeks. We also export it to Field Services.

With Soffid, from the call center they can make the request and have it approved by the next day. An average of two weeks of payroll per employee, since these are operational the day after they are hired. It means an important cost savings.

The process of recertification and detection of inactive accounts has been improved. All this has been possible through the creation of user profiles, since by assigning a certain profile, all permissions and access to all applications are already granted.
